Sencha Chumushi is a medium-steamed sencha produced from tea leaves that are harvested in spring and early summer. The process through which the leaves are steamed does not fracture the leaves as much as deeper steaming styles, which yields a more needle-like leaf and a clearer beverage. Sencha Chumushi has a refreshing flavor and a remarkable vegetal fragrance. It is an older style of sencha that has been around for over three centuries.

In my recent order I tried 3 Oolong teas from China, Taiwan, and Nepal and this green Japanese sencha. I like all of them! This one is very smooth and easy to drink. I got 3 good infusions and then tried a last one -- it was fairly weak, but still had flavor. I use an electric kettle that allows me to set an exact temperature for the water and I do time my infusions. People who don't like tea are probably using grocery store tea bags, or infusing it incorrectly. Especially green tea -- too long of an infusion or boiling water will destroy the taste of green tea. Just my opinion.
