Quite an amazing tea! Smooth, bold, balanced, comforting. Invokes dried fruit, tobacco, leather, reminds me think of the sweet scent of some old books. Also a light creaminess and nuttiness, light pleasant tannins. Certainly tastes aged, but without the musty or fishy flavors of many fermented teas. Flavor lingers in the mouth for quite a while. I recommend brewing it Gong Fu style: after a quick initial rinse it should be good for 6-8 infusions. Serve it for someone you like and you’ll have them asking, “What IS this?”
