Golden Monkey is complex and sophisticated, and unlike any other “gourmet” tea. It is naturally malty and slightly sweet, with savory notes of walnut, roasted apple, and rye. It is slightly mellow when compared to bolder black teas, lacking the bitterness that turns many away from black tea as a whole.
Golden Monkey, also known in Chinese as Jin Hou, is a famous black tea with leaves that are fabled to resemble monkey paws. It originates from Fujian, China, and is hand-processed each spring with a careful ratio of one leaf to one bud of tea.
