Alexis Blueberry

New Mexico Tea Company
  • Spoon 1.5 tsp Per Cup
  • Kettle 180°F
  • Timer 3-5 Min

Alexis Blueberry tea blends together the taste of juicy blueberries with premium white tea from Fujian province, China. Very fragrant, like freshly harvested 'highbush' blueberries (the aromatic variety). Soft, rounded mouthfeel with a clean, refreshing finish. A favorite both hot or iced.

Extra Info:

Alexis Blueberry gets its name from Terry's granddaughter, Kurt's daughter (pictured). As Alexis, age 2, was walking around the blueberry fields picking and eating the blueberries she finally decided that it was much faster to eat them directly from the bush.

In addition to creating a wonderful tea, the blueberry is one of the few fruits native to North America. Blueberry was an important crop to the early Pilgrims, who learned about its cultivation from the Native Americans. A beverage made with blueberries was an important staple for Civil War Soldiers. There are two main types of commonly grown blueberry: the smaller 'wild' type, known as lowbush, and the larger highbush type. Lowbush blueberries are prized for their vivid color and flavor, while highbush blueberries are the most aromatic.
